Air Scent Workshop - Live Person is a brand-new dog sport in Ireland where we teach you and your dog to find a hidden person.

An Air Scent Search dog works off lead, under the direction of the handler to search an area to find a person. This life saving skill is used by Search and Rescue Teams across the world. With Hounds and Heli’s, Air Scent Search is not just for use by professionals but is also a great activity for anyone who wants to spend quality time with their dog.

Éadaoin has worked and qualified two Operational Open Area Search Dogs within both Lowland and Mountain Rescue teams here in Ireland and assessed within Ireland and the UK.

Air Scent Search relies on you and your dog to work as a team to search your assigned search area and find the ‘missing person’. Over time, you and your dog will work on directional work at a distance, emergency stops, indications, recalls and more.

Air Scent Search Dogs typically work in rural areas such as farmland, forestry, riverbank etc. This workshop is open to energetic breeds of any age. Initially, you dog will only work in enclosed private grounds before expanding into other search areas.
